"Keep in mind -- the Savannah is on its way to having wonderful consistency -- we are already breeding Savannah to Savannah. In a few short years, that will be the norm -- so there will be NO outside cats in a four or five generation pedigree.
This breed has structure, a well-defined (we're getting there :o) standard, carefully thought out breeding programs, a LOT of breeder dialogue through the Savannah Cat Club and the Savannah Breed Section List, a study, testing, and discussion on health and genetics, and a large registering body (TICA) that has documented the pedigrees of our new breed for over five years now.
The difference between a Savannah and the Ashera? I would say the Savannah can be likened to a well-bred, pedigreed horse or show dog -- whose lineage is carefully tracked and whose breeding painstakingly thought out.
The Asheera is more like a Goldendoodle or a Shitzypoo. Not registered, not shown, no standard -- but the whim of a couple of folks who thought wouldn't it be fun? And folks will pay top dollar for these mongrels? Curious, isn't it?"

You are the problem with pet breeders. Because it is not "thought out" you discount its existence and popularity. It really doesn't matter as long as it makes people happy and the aniamls are healthy.
People and ignorance. Will this ever stop? It's amazing what people will spend, particularly rich people, for their ego! It's extremely sad and makes me very sick. If just one of these very ignorant and selfish people would spend this $22,000+ on an animal in need, a feral kitty who doesn't stand a chance or a kitty at the shelter. Imagine how many animals could be helped with this. People who spend their money like this are the most selfish, undeserving people in the world. Whether they buy a savannah or an ashera cat, they are equally deserving of the throne of stupidity and selfishness. At the end, it's just a cat! A cat is an amazing creature. The true cats are generally the shorthaired breeds. These are the kitties that represent the character and personality of the wild cat. 5 million cats and dogs are euthanized each year. Why is there a waiting list and a price tag as almost as high as my education per year when there is an euthanasia list?
Would someone knowledgeable be willing to discuss and describe the personality of the Savannah? Thank you.
Cheers,
Patricia

Yes, I have yet to find a site that discusses the personalities of these cats (both the Savannah and the Ashera). I am curious as to whether they are like some dogs - friendly at a young age but maturing to be mean and aggressive.
If you have yet to find a website that describes the personality of the Savannah cat, I would say that you haven't ventured very far with your search! Even looking on Wikipedia offers a brief description of a Savannah's personality!
I've only just looked into the "Ashera" but seeing as they are just Savannahs under a different name, I wouldn't imagine them to be all that much different in personality. The appearance might vary slightly, however, in accordance with the pedigree that they breed with a serval to produce these cats.
Going by the
photos of these cats on the web in looks they are very reminiscent of our ocelot -- who was the most beautiful baby creature I ever saw.
I just bought one of these "hypo-allergenic" cats. I think Ashera really missed the mark. I have waited 40 years to be able to have a cat and not suffer... I would have paid ALOT more than the $28,000 I paid today for this possibility. If any of you nay sayers have something dream fulfilling to offer along these lines, charge more, advertise more and maybe one day you too can be one of the foolish rich people you seem to dislike so much.
Oh yes... I almost forgot... I am on the waiting list for one of Lifestyles $15,000 "hypo-allergenic" dogs... another bargain for me... but I would have easily paid twice that just for the simple pleasure of having a dog of my own, that won't cause me to suffer with allergies.
Think about it this way... if you suddenly became severely allergic to cats and/or dogs... would you pay $15,000 to $28,000 to fix the problem so you could keep your pets? Of course you would, and you don't even have to be rich to feel that way, I bet most of you would mortgage your home to do it if you were faced with such a problem. Feel free to post a reply if you can do it for less... I am all ears.
To my mind, an Allerca cat is a different plan than an Ashera cat. I know that there is the hypoallergenic Ashera cat planned...but the Ashera cat is not fulfilling any need not already met by the Savannah cat. For a very good reason, there is no discernible difference between a Savannah and an Ashera cat except the exorbitant pricetag on the latter.
Have you done much research into hypoallergenic cats? Currently the Siberian is being extensively tested and roughly 30% of them test hypoallergenic by the same standards used for the Allerca cat...but the Siberian cat breed is markedly less expensive AND comes with registration and a pedigree!
forloveofcats is stupid. i love money and i love rare cats and if i choose to spend 22,000 dollars on a cat, which i HAVE!, then i will do what i want. who are you to say that anyone who buys that expensive of a cat deserves a stupidity crown. if u think that u deserve a stupidity kingdom. and do you talk to wild cats.do you know their personality. cats and dogs with my money i would. but im not stupid like you. so i buy what i want. with my money. that is rare cats. i love cats. good day.just a cat huh...your a disgrace to the feline loving community.
HOw come all the people on these websites that have "comments" are so angry? I guess nobody wants to listen to it, so they can just type it all out in Cyberspace. And if this site allows no anonymous comments, why do they allow ads for penis enhancements?
Cats are such amazing creatures and I happen to own three of them the bring joy to our lives but just hate it when they excrete where they are not supposed to
